Someone, Somewhere

Someone, somewhere knows why
a teddy bear with a green sweater is under my old bed
full of memories and soaked with tears
a million sobs within two years...

Someone, somewhere knows why
I watched my parents getting high
and for some reason this never seemed
a completely irrational thing to me...

Someone, somewhere knows why
a hundred years seems to fly by
a hint of lavender,a glimpse of leg
used to make a poor man beg...

Someone, Somewhere knows why
the stars look down from the night sky
at the world so far beneath
at bleeding girls and boys that seethe

Someone, Somewhere knows why......

Author notes

Inspired by a poem that i read a while ago...I cant remeber the author but the poem had an immediate effect on me...because in truth,Someone, Somewhere always knows why.

This is amazing...it's a wonderful blend of subtlety and straight-forwardness. I absolutely love it. The emotion is real and the words flow so well.

This is really well written, and captures the emotions you wished to portray really well. I love the first stanza, about the bear under your bed. The feelings it conveyed were powerful. Nice write!!

the 'where' from which the stars look down is for all to see. The 'someone' looking down lives only in the heart and in the heart is the answer to the 'why'

If someone somewhere understands all these things they are a better person with mysteries than I am. Very good write .

  • A beautiful write and you're right, someone somewhere does know why.

    I wonder why, too...

    that someone, somewhere knows why...
Maybe because WHY always needs an ANSWER.

Straight from the heart, this one. Keep on penning.

This is such a good write, I like the repeated refrain in this poem, it helps to emphasise the isolation and the searching of the narrator. There's some great images in there.

Also, it probably isn't what inspired you, but it reminds me of the line: "Someone, somewhere, soon will take care of you"

  • i rly lyk this poem it says alot within the first two stanzas i cn relate
