sweltering, the world melts inside out
I lived in this ever burning inferno,
sweat beading upon brow &
running down my back & thighs
so thick, forming a mucus film; a second skin.
unbearable heat rises, soaks into my every cell,
steaming my mind in an unthinkable fire,
turning flesh to liquid, evaporating as soon as formed.
muscles tense away from fever's touch, no escape,
becoming nothing but my charred skeleton.
comforting.
odd as it may be, I feel relief in being remains,
almost nothing.

Thank you!!
