Do you know the privilege you have
to feel the sun against your skin?
I've had many a night to imagine how nice that might be
while you slumber and dream
Do you even know what a gift that is?
The simplest of your freedoms
are the objects of my greatest envy
Mine is a slave's existence
clinging to your heels
twisting to the will of the light you bathe in
What I might do to know such glory
A moment to feel the light
know the taste of milk
to smell the perfume of a woman passing
What I might do for a single smile
Oh, if I could just smile...
