This year
I'm gonna keep making more mistakes
because that's the only way to live
but this year I am gonna be happy with the mistakes I make
This year
I'm gonna be there for
the people that are important to me
This year
I'm gonna wake up and smell
the sweet scent of flowers and pine needles
in the forest every morning
because this year I'm gonna let my imagination
run wild and that's where I'll be
This year
I'm gonna take someone's hand
and lead them through their life
and their problems
and be there to help them fix everything
This year
I am not gonna believe in regrets
but that everything happens for a reason
This year
I will not have second thoughts
and will always make the best of
every mistake
because eventually I will appreciate them
This year
I won't let the second thoughts
corrupt my happiness
and always finish what I start
without quitting first
This year
I'm gonna realize that I only live once
and that I am only human
and to let go of my inhibitions

...hmmm...goo goo dolls aren't well known in this country so I was not aware of them...
...the use of repetition of the words works well with the melody as we have this rising theme of change and improvement...also surprisingly represented by the graphology of the nice little birdies in the background...
...overall this completely mirrors the upbeat sound of the song...very very well done and good luck in the contest...
