Burning Choice

As I watch and listen
I know you belong to another
But still I want
And still I need

This burning desire
To show you love
To give you me
And all I can be

Just wonder why
You seek in her
What I will give
That she will not

I came too late
For a chance with you
such a rip off
It's  just a date!

You know I'm right
We would love for long
But wait...
How could I forget?

It's me you didn't choose...

Author notes

In spite of what you may think, this poem is not about desiring a married man, it's a poem about desiring someone who has chosen someone else just because they met them first. It's about having to sit back and watch someone you care about go through hell with the other person because of the "date" you met. Some people are too willing to keep together a relationship that won't last. Either way there is no foul play in this and it's about realizing that no matter how you feel for someone...ultimately they didn't choose you. And that alone should free any woman

Please tell me what you think

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!
