An Evening Kiss

*
*
It's the evenings kissed till the skies blush
just after the first cleansing rain,
they savor.
A dance in a soft breeze, a gentle tease.
Coaching/tip-toeing, wooing desire closer------closer.

It's a mere stolen moment, in the ghost of day
above the rolling pleats of misty emeralds
star-cross'd lovers---split-aparts
secretly meet in ocean's horizon.

For he's bound to day and she, starlight.
Forbidden worlds, separate by fate.
Longing for the moment skies melt toward darkness,
and briefly, the sun and moon forget to shine.

As the heavens slip into twilight's costume,
good-night---good-night
they gently sigh.
In sleepy-head-yawns
their magic slowly fads...
Sunrise/sunrise they softly whisper.
