Take the pain that manifests
as blood inside your soul
and paint it on the sunlight
always singing in my mind.
Take my breath and blow it down
upon the birds and forests
and forgive a world that
never really knew of you
and never more of me.
Take my tears that wash
this beating heart of mine away
and guide them into silver streams
of life entwined with you.
Take my seed and sow it
on the granite ground below
somehow it will take upon the
love we hide inside
(so secretly inside).
Let me hold you in the light forever
(though darkness schemes to stem our love)
and soothe these insecurities
that torture-rape our minds,
and let me know you’re mine
(just once) for sure, forever
let our love light shine
beyond the darkness
of this void.
