More thoughts on death . .

Missing image

Lots of people will die today

Unfortunately . . that is part of life

Some of old age and peacefully

Others violently . . by gun or knife

Of course, We cannot live for ever . .

And few would want to anyway

But life is really special . .

And we shouldn’t fritter it away

Thousands die as they cross the street

Without looking where they’re going

Others from self caused ailments

As they reap from what they’re sowing

If we are good we’ll go to heaven

Well . . That’s what the Bible says

But God doesn’t give us choices

And we pass so many ways

But we live on within our love ones

And in their children yet to come

As our story passes into legend . .

And our account goes on and on

Yes . . Lots of people will die today

But thankfully I still have a little time

Tomorrow’s papers will have obituaries

But thankfully now of them is mine

So I try to make the most of it

I enthuse everything with laughter

And despite my final circumstance

In fact . . I will live forever after

Yes - I'm sure my life will continue

In some mysterious  . . unexplainable way

So day by day I accept . . what’s inevitable

But of course . . now and then I pray

    Co-incidence? I think not!

I haven't submitted anything new for quite some time. This month I finally get a wake-up call from my muse (link below). When I read the fifth verse above, I had to chuckle. If there are such things as coincidences, then there must be a Master Coincidence Coordinator Who sees to it that nothing occurs by accident. Sometimes some things only appear to be precariously random.

Good to be back at AP, and good to be reading (and learning from) your poems.

    Thought Provoking

Very Thought Provoking. (You might enjoy reading some of my prose essays on other dimensions and proof of intelligent design of this universe.)
