The emotions take hold, seen or unseen, and we are essentially all alone. With the Moon, we go within, and dare not let anyone - outside our most intimate circle - into our innermost souls, and even they may feel left out for a time. Fear can creep in if we have difficulty coming to terms with the feelings that hold us in their grip.

The Moon is an essential part of you. the nagging desire that fuels your imagination, and the primal, natural forces of emotion that keep you alive.

Thanks fo rthe link! Your haiku could be the end of his poem.
Very creative and matches perfectly on Li Po's poem.
I like haikus, and I really liked this one!

Gosh...quite profound in its way Andrew...amazing what interpretations could be drawn from this...not a form of poetry I am too familiar with but you seem to have it close to perfection...

    Enjoyed...

    just lovely

Few words, but the image is immense and profound. Reminiscent of parties past....yes. I've watched that moon.

    an interesting haiku twist
always enjoy reading, and seeing how many different roads
    traditional haiku can take
you've managed to combine old with the new
    well done!
