I sit on the dock,
waiting for the boat.
Thinking of all the times we shared,
and how wonderful it was.
I have an old picture of us,
and what used to be.
Now there is nothing holding me back,
we have both agreed.
Here, comes the ship-
we are ready to board.
What we used to have
never was ignored.
Through it all we can and
will endure.
I take the old picture of you and
me, and throw it into the sea.
I watch it sink,
and think of what used to be.
We can't let the our past words
guide us to our future,
and we can't let out future be premature.
What we had was unorganized,
yet sweet.
But everything seemed to be on repeat,
I sit at my seat on the boat,
and imagine what my life will be life
as I am a new person.

Your prompt is:
I took all of my memories and threw them in the ocean.
Just like that they drowned on impact.
In a flurry of nightmares dressed up like dreams.
I opened my eyes and managed to find some clarity.
Don't hang onto words you don't understand.
They're just letters in unalphabetical order anyway.
