the Armor of God

We live in a world where evil is free.
Free to confuse the things that we see.
In the valley of death where demons will trod...,
Put on the Armor, the Armor of God.

Put on the helmet. Pick up the sword.
Join in the battle and follow the Lord.
Don’t be deceived by Satan’s façade...,
Put on the Armor, the Armor of God.

This shield will hold your enemies at bay.
The spirits must honor the words that you say.
Go forth in praise, in worship, and laud...,
Put on the Armor, the Armor of God.

This plate will defend your chest from a blow.
No weapon that's formed against you will grow.
No longer fooled by deception or fraud...,
Put on the Armor, the Armor of God.

The Armor of God is the faith that we wear.
Adorned by the words we’ve chosen to snare.
The suit is complete with staff and rod...,
Put on the Armor, the Armor of God.

Providing protection from heavenly loss.
Secured by a Savior sacrificed on a cross.
Triumphantly Angels will stand to applaud...,
when you put on the Armor, the Armor of God.

Author notes

God gave us a gift... the armor that we can choose to wear everyday to protect us. What a beautiful gift of assurance, worn by faith, cloaked with love, designed by the Father's hand. Wear it well. Kevin Pace WordsDoMatter

    Excellent!!

It seems kind of trivial to give you three "clappy hands" for something so, beautiful, important, and true. But I'm gonna do it anyway. You truly have a gift from God. I wish this poem could be made into a hymn. Any plans for that?

  • Wow! I'm not even going totry to rhyme in this one. You have adequately explained to believers and non-believers (and those who are lukewarm. Yuck!) the Armor of God in very simple terms. I look to veiw more in the future. May God bless and keep you today and always.
