Death, who or what are you?
Just the passing of our physical presence
into the unknown;
how frightening should that be?
Should we be terrified simply by uncertainty?
Like a radio, once the receiver is turned off
the program is still ongoing and heard through other channels.
Our God, by any name, or unacknowledged,
will ensure that the programs will continue.
I sometimes wonder if people, fearing death,
ever think back to the times before they were born.
Surly pre-birth is just as frightening as after death?
It is impossible for me to imagine
that at the time of Alexander or Jesus
there was no evidence of me—
existing in some form or other, somewhere.
The fearful unknown is merely our pre-birth past,
and our past death future.
Be content with now!
Accept the rest as inevitable.
Death is beyond pain and illness,
and after death, even death,
is a thing on the past.
