Daddy's Little Girl...

Missing image
She may never be
an expert in any field,
she may never be
completely aware or interact
with the world around her,
she may never speak a word…

Overwhelmed, she freaks out,
throwing herself to the floor,
amidst the stares
and rolling eyes of ignorance,
oblivious to their distain,
struggling to find understanding…

But every day, she strives,
trying so hard to overcome
her frustrations in life,
climbing mountains,
achieving things that others
just take for granted…

And what seems like
such a small step
and pales to insignificance
in the eyes of some,
is such a huge leap
for my wonderful little girl…

She is so full of love,
I adore her so much,
she makes me so very proud,
each and every day of my life…

I've read this before and reading it again is no less moving.

What a wonderful father you are; and she sounds like a loving daughter. I don't blame you for being proud of her!

    Oh Dear Sweet Lord

your words bring tears to my eyes, she is so lovely, in a small way I understand your pain, my grandson suffers from the effects of fetal alcohol syndrome, he may speak, but he may never register real emotional response to another, it is so hard to watch those we love suffer, your love and hers pour out through the words and picture here. I am humbled at sharing this piece of your heart

  • I am so moved by your devotion to this little angel and she is blessed to have you as well...Thank you for allowing us to see the beauty within both of you...Love and Light,
    Helen

Such passion in your words. My daddy is my best friend, my world, my life, my entire everything. I'm not amazing, I'm not perfect, but he stands by me in all that I do, and I can tell that you do that for your daughter. Such a touching and loving piece. So many times, autism and kids with it are looked down upon. My cousin has it, and he is one of my favorite people to hang out with, he just makes me laugh, he makes me have a good time. Your daughter is an absolute beauty.

    xx always,

    Oh wow My dear brother
This is an amazing expression of your love for her.
Her daily struggles and the awkward stares are something i am use to also. who cares what others think, they are amazing and we love them.
But it is so worth it every time they reach even the smallest milestone. we hoot and holler and people think we are insane but we don't care cause we are a very proud parent.
This is an amazing piece of you and sweet marine.
Thank you for sharing a peice of your world with us.

  • A personal glimpse of what makes you tick, and wonderfully written. Love it...

This is a wonderful tribute to your angel, Marnie. She has the light of joy in her eyes and the knowledge that she is loved. She sounds wonderful. I wish people who pass judgement through sheer ignorance, would take the time to seek understanding of others that are different. They only have to look in someone's eyes to see the innocent beauty and sheer determination it takes to deal with Autism or any other 'unseen' disorder. Well done Bruv.
    's to you both.

Fritz that is the most gorgeous photo of you and your best girl, I hope you don't mind that I have copied it for myself. She looks such a pretty girl and so happy there with her Dad. I really love this poem of the feelings you have for her. Fathers and daughters are such a very special combination and you allow nothing to get in the way of that bond. Marnie is lucky with the love and support she has from you and you are a lucky man to have her in your life. Sheila

  • aww

Fritz my friend, what a privilege to be introduced to Marnie and yes, all that matters , her mountain-high achievements and your mountain-high love, acceptance and nurturing of who for who she is, she is a small person with a big challenge, methinks she has the bounty of having the best Father a girl could have, for a Father who see's his child as a blessing is a Father that every child should surely have but sadly doesn't. A heartwarming piece of personal poetry, a tribute and testimony that is already a trophy for it sits on the shelf within the mantlepiece of your heart.
