Fourteen hours of work, just got home, 2AM,
from shitter to shower in just one day.
Wall cutting, some plumbing, fabrication,
no time even to take a break and pray.
Build a platform, more plumbing, it's too short,
needs some legs, so I add those readily.
Position, fasten, it's like a known sport,
unconscious movement, progressing steadily.
Add a skirt, build the stall, it's a kit,
attach the handles, shower head, almost done.
Couple flex hoses from the wall to it,
pressure up, check for leaks, let it run.
Walk out the door with a hundred cash,
wasn't nearly enough, who turns down jobs?
Four Arab's standing there, one of them asks,
can you do "this" tomorrow? He almost sobs.
Look at my watch, it's 1AM....

Fuck no! I ain't doin nothin today.
It's Earth Day, my birthday, I'm gonna go plant a tree.

It's my birthday, I'm self employed, I don't have to work today,
besides... I have an... Earache, yea that's it an earache.
Can somebody write me an excuse please?
I have planted something on my birthday several years running now,
I figure I cut up enough wood in a week, I can plant one tree to give back something.
It is Earth Day people, April 22nd. every year, do some little thing for Her today.
Make her beautiful, plant a flower.
