Transcendental Signifier

The social world is flawed; unperfected in every act of perfection; the artist recreates an original artifact, intricately carving out the details, as a storyteller weaves their tale. The pen becomes their carving tool, the story becomes their statue. The statue is erected through the swift movement of the pen. Stories are formed, while words bring them to life. These words would never be born without the pen; paper would “lack” this creation. The statue would be incomplete were it not for the carver. The map would be incomplete without the navigator. There would be no art, were it not for the artist. Man holds the power of society in his hands; his ‘tool’ becomes a “transcendental signifier” of power, which he can manipulate to his desire. Society would not be flawed, if masculinity did not ‘write’ its story upon the world.
