Sorry

Please don't shut me out
and cast me to the side;
For you touched my very soul,
and there you still reside.

I'm sorry if my caring
has caused you any pain;
I suppose that your face
I shall never see again.

I know what I felt
and surely could of been;
But I would like to settle
for at least being your friend.

    Wow! Good thoughts. I could apply this poem in my life as, I'm sure, many others could as well. The mood is translated throughout consistently. Started with great rhythm when read aloud. I feel it lost some of that rhythm in the line...I suppose that your face...and perhaps change "could of been" to "could have been" IMHO. Great write.
