butterfly is courtesy of photobucket. free to use background and tag upon request. this is my first time using the sTILES program, which has many wonderful effects and allows one to appear "seamless" in the background. I can't wait to use it for other backgrounds. thanks everyone!

Aww, it's pretty. I can't do fancy backgrounds like this. Best of luck to you in the contest. I like the cluster of flowers the butterfly is lying on.

Beautiful soft colors and my favorite butterfly, the Monarch! Your colors and composition all work well together. Bravo!

it's a great start too.. I love the colors and the butterfly in the border. I do have a suggestion regarding the lines, if you are interested. I use the program STILES for making my backgrounds seamless, it helps a lot. and it's a free program
let me know if you come back and fix this some more, I would love to see it
good luck

I love the sTILES program!
this is fun! it has so many creative effects and things. thank you and Calli for the tips.
Another thing I always wondered is how everyone does their nice borders and frames. I just figured it takes a special program; but lately I have been looking for borders and frames, like on photobucket, to cut and paste. Otherwise, I just draw borders, like I did on the tag here.
I think this is my final product. The background is seamless and I added a tag that I made. I learned a lot. thanks again! everyone has been great.

thank you for the help! I am still learning and I need all the tips I can get. So far I fixed the background color a bit to blend more. I checked out the stiles program, and I will definitely give it a shot. thanks again.
