No ill side effects

From day one, I knew what it was
I saw potential, as all others did
It was the spark that I saw in those baby blues
The illuminating flash of white in his smile

I was hooked- addicted if you will.
Although he warned me of crippling OD,
I failed to listen to the sting of garbled English-
Caught up in the melody of his voice.

Two years long,
Our game continues still
With promises of love one-sided and yet-
He promises he cares
And saves me from my fall...
A glorified knight in silver armor
With endless cerullean seas.
But if I fall, as oft I do...let me fall, in midnight's blue.

He's the perfect drug-
The smoothest heroin
It's hard to be hung over when the high just never ends.
