With my back against the closed curtain
In the dim lights of a lonely night
On the abandoned stage
I will sing a song for myself
Drum the deep din
Of my own tempo
Clap and cheer myself own
This is my stage
And this is my song
I no longer need the powdered face now
Nor the big red nose
Iam my own clown
My own ballerina
Clumsy, fat but graceful
The world sits in a silent corner
Timid, shy and frightened
But I dance
And sing a song for myself
What did you think

you wrote: "myself own" and i think own might suppose to be 'on.' maybe? Regardless, I enjoyed the read, the title caught my attention. And I like the message I got from the poem, and it reminded me of my friend LeRoy White. He always says "GO FOR IT!" if it makes you happy & it's what you want to do go for it. One of his lines is "I 450 pounds, but i want to be a ballerina. GO FOR IT!"
Thanks.
