You have meant the world to me for so long and it’s hard to let go.
I wish that things were different but I can’t help the way I feel.
I love you more than you know but sometimes love just isn’t enough.
It takes more than love to make a relationship work but without it you don’t have anything, funny how that works.
I have loved you since our first kiss and from that moment I knew we had something special and even after everything we have been through I still believe that is something.
I should let go and I know it’s the best thing to do, I would feel a lot less pain but I just can’t yet.
There is a reason I am holding on, I just haven’t figured it out yet.
I will never apologize for how I feel because this is me.
What did you think?

Oh my gosh, this has really bought a few tears to the eyes, I can totally relate to this and thank you so much, you have inspired me with the last line.
"I will never apologize for how I feel because this is me". Brilliant!!!!

Young poet
The heartache of a onesided affair? But to love and learn is a plus. But then again sometimes there is such a sad distortion to what me think as love.

Thank you for your comment, it is much appreciated. This definitely was a love and learn situation. A piece of my heart is still stuck in the moment but I deserve more and I deserve to be loved the way I can love someone. It is sad what we believe love really is but I also believe that when you find the really thing you know and will do anything not to lose it.

Thanks again.

Thank you.
This was actually written a few years ago as a way for me to be able to move on and it really does come from the heart. I had a lot of emotions and some I am still trying to deal with today. I actually starting writing because of this one situation and since then it has just grown.
And I will definitely check out your poem.
