When I wake up in the morning
and I look into the mirror
and behind me is an almost endless blue sky
all around me is the light from the sun shining
Today, I will relfect its bright view – I choose.
When I am broken, hurt and bruised
Been unjustly accused
My innocence, stollen and inside me, I'm afraid
I'll state my case, until they know the truth
I'll keep on doing what it is I have to do, I choose
I choose rainbows after showers
That quench and nourish flowers.
I prefer quarters to pennies
And stories with happy endings.
I am delighted to see
The face that looks back at me
Can cheer up my darkest hours
And when everything goes sour
I simply refuse to cower or give up - I choose
I choose every day to learn something new
I choose to seek for that for which I yearn
I choose to give someone else my turn
I choose when I look in the mirror what I see
That the face that’s laughing back at me is me.

Author notes
because I have Parkinson's Disease, sometimes it takes a lot to get myself out of a funk.
And I am always trying to think of ways to encourage my friends who become discouraged. Thats what sparked this poem. (I am not a gold or silver member so could not add the picture that went with this contest)

No picture needed as your poem holds it own by sharing a very inpsirational message to always hold a smile within your heart even when the clouds roll in!!
A beautiful piece of poetry for Lynda which I am sure will bring a smile to her heart!
