Holding hearts in sheltered hands
sunshine poured a beautiful love
brightened darkness for us to see
that this was something meant to be
beholdingly cherished oh so long
as we shall live an eternity
inside the doors of sensual touches
uplifting the other as emotional crutches
understanding painful stuff of long ago
yet identified we used the other
giving love that no one gave
we spent it all, no use to save
an unconditional fatherly love
looking out for my best goal
loving me no matter how I fell
surrounded inside your heart’s well
you taught me to drop facades
to be true with you, my faithful friend
to trust again in reality’s wish
not to need another silly fish
I’ve never felt a love so strong
it hurts to know you’re all alone
for your tender heart needs some care
praying you will know how much I care
