The doctors say it's just a matter of time, how come I never knew.
That behind this solid exterior, ther's a weaker side of you.
That behind your"take care" and "I miss you so".
You were silently, letting go.
I ran to your room,held your hand tight.
"Don't you dare die" I said, You gotta win this fight.
I'm down on my knee; I'm begging you"please give it a try".
Slowly your voice is fading, as a tear fell from my eye.
You caress my cheek,wiping my tears away.
"Everything will be just fine", you continuously say.
You handled me a letter, gently squeeziny my hand.
Asked me to read it, every word, to understand.
The letter was in Red, Saturated with the scent you wear.
I started reading, while you looked at me with a stare.
" I don't know babe how to start so I will tell your everything, right from my heart.
You always were my guide in my darknest days I loved you so
Dearly in so many different ways.
You've been stuck to me in my better days and worse
you taught me how to put my feelings into verse
You've been my inspiration, you've been my home I never
wanted to leave you alone.
You were my dream comes true,you were my sunshine when
I'm cold.
You were apart of me,the one who I dreamed to forever hold
I'm sorry I couldn't tell you that my days in this world are few every time I try to tell you, I couldn't dare to hurt you
But I guess now you knew the reason why every time I'm with you, you notice a tear hidden in my eye.
I wanted to make you happy as much as I could you will always be my girl and I will always be your man.
I don't want you to cry, you know I fell in love with your smile
It used to comfort me and make living worthwhile.
Just please babe,I need you to know if it was up to me I would never let you go.
I love you with all that I'm,all that I was and all that I will
ever be please babe, let it go, live a happy life and set me free"
I looked back at you with tears, running down my cheek.
You used to make me strong, Oh babe, I'm so weak.
I let go of your hand, looked at you with eyes filled with sorrow.
Knowing that I'd be alone,for all that's coming tomorrows.
I kissed you one last time, whispering, babe, take care of yourself please.
We will meet again soon, I promise...goodbye,love and rest in peace.

wooow. This poem had me cryin; no lie and i'm the one who wrote
this,i been working on this for a few weeks and i glad i got to use it in this contest...I hope every one loves it and leave comment to tell me how you feel...It means alot to me and i would try to leave a comment back to the ones who write...Understand this is the longest poem i every worked on so i would like to hear your comments....Thank You

good poem. Althoug in this line "You handled me a letter, gently squeeziny my hand" im pretty sure handled is handed and in "You always were my guide in my darknest days I loved you so " means darkness.
