Seconds slowly tick into minutes,
and minutes slowly flow into hours,
then the hours turn to days.
As the days bleed to months,
we find ourselves changing.
Rearranging.
We aren't who we once were.
You look back along the bittersweet road of life,
you can see the ups,
and the downs.
All the times you wish for it to end,
and all the moments you rejoice it hasn't.
You can see how far you've come.
How much you've changed as a person;
for better or worse.
You weren't who you were a year ago.
Nor two days ago.
You never will be.
So celebrate!
Dance in the rain for the hell of it.
Sing until your lungs give out.
Laugh until your stomach hurts.
Live up the days you have,
make each one better than the last.
And keep changing.
Keep becoming the new person you want to be.
And as those long months turn into one year,
look back and remember the good and bad times.
Happy Anniversary.
