I thought i could always dance in the sunlight of your
irrevocable,
inevitable,
i r r e s i s t a b le
smile.
2 a.m., 3 a.m., 4 a.m.,
The sidewalks swept away your body,
my ears plastered to my phone,
ringing all of my innocence dry,
with your voice breathing resistance into my hopeless demeanor.
[Your words echoing that it was only another forgettable summer,
A feeble attempt at a Harlequin romance.]
Nights of stars sucking up all of the clouds away,
forming constellations above our eyes,
breath misting up our own mini storms,
&tongues forming tiny wars within our mouths.
[A forgettable summer,
Another stupid summer…]
When the blinds emptied the sky perfectly between your brows,
&our bodies outstretched out of last night's flickering lights,
when you laid against me,
you slept away a perfect lullaby.
[&i'll confess that i was naive,
as long as you tell me that you were wrong.]
You let the pieces shatter right at my bedside,
so when i awoke from my dreams,
I could stand in all the mess you'd made.
[Choking on "forevers" you laid perfectly under my tongue,
the conversation you thrust between my teeth,
&the words you twisted inside my cheeks.]
&Now i'm only breathing in dirty oxygen
mixed with the:
left-behind-never-cared-for stench
that looms in my room.
[You'd simply lift my head,
kiss my lips,
tell me to erase all of those memories.
well, i went & marked them in my calendar instead.]
You watched all of those tears fall,
as the daffodil petals cascaded out of my hands,
&you never stopped staring at my quivering lips,
You said, “they were too beautiful to pass up.”
But you were always good at lying.
[You grabbed my shoulders,
thrusting your fingernails in my shoulder blades,
as I pierced your lips with a “shush”
“tell me,
speak to me,
look in my eyes &tell me everything was for nothing.”]
Just tell me you were wrong.

i loveeee this song.
It's one of meee favs.
I can really apply this to my life.
I listened to this song at one of the hardest points of this year,
&it really helped me realize that "he" wasn't worth any of my time.

^I love that part.
<3
I think my favorite part was the way you ended this.
Starting from 'you grabbed my shoulders...' to the end.
I liked this alot.
Great job, good luck< -
Hmmmmm.
" You watched all of those tears fall,
as the daffodil petals cascaded out of my hands,
&you never stopped staring at my quivering lips,
You said, “they were too beautiful to pass up.”
But you were always good at lying. "
I wouldn't be surprised if you won.
