What secret lies within a cat’s eyes?
A slanted nocturnal deity of inner light.
Internal vision partakes to visualize
uplifting movements of spirits flight.
Silent stealth of padded paws enhance
a predator assault on sleeping prey.
One sweep of claws parlay a dance
of rivulets torn in slashed disarray.
Guttural purrs from tightly closed lips
concealing white sharpened incisors.
Whiskers sensing wayward wind clips
stirred from ancient Egyptian floors.
Holy guardian and watcher of hell’s gate
Keeper of night time caldron burned black
Entrusted to pale riders who deal out fate
A feline ghost strolling down death’s track.
The cat feels the presense of a drifting soul
Howling to the spirits that only they can see
Crying to the beat of drums by a devils troll
Another life transcends beyond a lovers plea.
Author notes
Last week my aunt died at home of cancer. She had two cats that she was really close to and the exact second that she died both cats instantly howled, some how knowing she had passed. Had they felt her soul leave the body, did they hear her last heart beat? The animal senses are deeper then we comprehend.
Please tell me what you think

Life spirit, when it moves from the body, is recognized by many - and those who are closest feel it most.

Hi beautiful lover,

hugs n kisses to you sweet soul.
You have penned here a most wonderful write.
I have noticed just how much your writes have improved greatly since you did your writing course, I mean, you were writing well before, but now you are excellent in conveying your thoughts to the reader, and you have always been such a pleasure to read.It is true that an animal can see what we can't and they know when something is wrong or when something is going to happen, even birds know and have this sense about them.
So yes...her beautiful cats knew she had passed and the howling was them saying goodbye.
I have read much on this subject as well as life after death.
I am so sorry to hear that your Aunt passed away, and so soon after Dad, I guess your Dad wanted company.
When my Grandfather passed my Nana was so unhappy for they loved each other deeply, then 3 months latter my Dad found his mum (my Nana) on the floor, and she had passed away, sadly she lay there for 2 days before she was found.
She died from a massive heart attack, we put it down too that she died from a broken heart.
We never know what is around the corner, so it is best that we let our loved ones know just how much we love them, while they are still with us ,because when they are gone it is too late.I wish you well with your writing, and thank you for sharing your heart and voice with us.
Much love and happiness to you Darling,
Always your Angel,
~Angel-anne~
