Never Forget

Our Daddy's used to joke about the two of us falling in love,
but we always laughed and screamed "Eww!",
But today I want you to know,
about all the times I accidentally caught myself falling in love with you.

Never forget the ballet recitals, the basketball games,
the ice cream trips, and board game nights,
never forget the movies, the stories, the photographs,
never forget the little play fights.

There's photographs of me, there's photographs of you,
There the ones on the fridge, the ones in mail,
but the ones I cherish most are the ones of us two,
the ones taped to my mirror, in my locker, in your car.

And when your driving home from college,
see my initials carved into the passenger seat of your car,
and know that your little piece of Heaven
is never too far.

Remember the late night coffee trips, the vacations in the fall,
the late night phone calls, "I miss you" texts, postcards in the mail,
riding on the boat we made in the summer,
both of us hanging onto the sail.

Never forget the songs that mean more to me and you,
all the times you came to watch me dance,
the girlfriends that always came, and the one that you never asked,

Have fun while your away,
three years from now I will be at that college too,
I'll be the girl reading Twilight with you in your dorm room,
