A tiny little baby
Trapped in her bed.
She knew I was there.
Not a word was said.
I'll be there when she needs me,
I then stretched out my hand.
And here I stand.
A Little girl on the corner,
Dirty and alone.
Crying for her mother that has
Left her on her own.
And here I stand.
The teenager in the hallway,
Mistreated and abused
Begging for some one to see,
She's tired of being of being used.
And here I stand.
A young woman in the bathroom,
Battered bruised and torn.
Feeling relieved as she drops the knife,
Wishing she'd never been born.
And here I stand.
A young single mother
wishing for the day
A loving man would want her
and take her away.
And here I stand.
A woman in her thirties
full of despair.
Praying just in case
There is a God somewhere.
And here I stand.
A bitter old lady
with hair of white.
Screaming to a stone
because he died on her one night.
And here I stand.
A woman on her death bed.
Tired of the pain.
Reaches for a Saviour
Through the driving rain.
I take her grasping hand
And hand in hand,
Here we stand.
