the Wisdom of Shadows

No matter where I walk. The shadows follow with me. Never letting me forget what I’ve seen.

Reminding that no matter how many times I wash my hands. They’ll never truly be clean. Never letting me live a life that’s serene.

Making sure I have nightmares instead of dreams. Always putting me in situations that are extreme. Until I finally make a sacrifice so supreme.

I become one with these shadows. And start to make them work for me. So I can walk in and out of these situations.

And truly be unseen.

A powerful piece. 'Reminding that no matter how many times I wash my hands, they'll never truly be clean', my favorite line. Though it should be one sentence. They'll never be truly clean can stand on its own, but not the first half. I also love the ending line, very powerful! Best wishes and thank you for entering.
