2. Candace & the Purple Marmalade

" Candy said.
Sitting at the end of the bar
lisa at the juke box
picky cool
nearly always bad
always sad
"Yeh" I said "What for?"
She said "you'd see,"
"You didn't take too long."
Lisa says.

Oh. This is a cool little poem that you have here. I'm not too sure that I really understand what it's about or anything but it seems to be about a group of people that are somewhere together like a bar and it's like you're just sharing a moment or something. I don't know. I do kind of feel like I'm left out on a secret.

    Bittersweet Candy for the Masses

Dancing to Lisa's choice, again? And for Candy? Purple marmalade > sun turned sad > bitter marmalade > making jam from miniature lemon suns. Never do this to Lisa, Lute Love. She may rattle your tune. Myra rolling her eyes

this is whacky! and reminds of two things 1. bruce singing "in candy's room" and 2. once i put 20 bucks worth of quarters into a jukebox and played the same song..tom petty's american girl for all plays. title throws me. hell the whole thing kinda tosses me around. lisa would probably be happy at the juke box though..at least for a bit...?

I love the sounds that hiss around on my tongue when I read this out loud. "S" sounds are always delcious. that's it - this is a delicious poem!

Reading your poetry lately, I've come to the conclusion that a poet can tell a story without always being so wordy, as I usually am. I may start copying your short style snippets. I like this form!

    thanks for the inspiration.
