Twisting,
turning,
and burning.
Societies chains,
tightening its grip.
Money,
stability,
swallowing worth.
What happened to
pride,
love,
passion?
Greed consuming,
shining brightly,
capitalism falling,
ah to but dream.
Economies crashing,
people crying,
money gone
and what is left?
Where did
the love,
the pride,
the passion go?
Consumed!
Consumed!
Gone are the days
where one could really,
live a dream.
Chains direct now,
doctor's,
laywer's,
dentist's,
roll in the money!
But where does
everyone else sit?
On the sidelines,
wishing,
hoping,
cursing,
that life would be different.
Fair.
But no.
Society dedicates,
we but jump,
jump, jump!
To reach as high
as we can.
World's oyster,
is a myth,
the carrot they dangle,
in front of the horse,
it all just depends,
on really how good
you "neigh".
Its either that
or "baa".
Why, why isn't
society an evil word?
The big guns say no,
it got them their money,
they are content.
If only more people could read
"1984" and see,
the power lies with the masses.
We don't have to live with this,
just say the word,
throw up your hands,
and we can change.
If but only,
societies chains would loosen,
their grip.
Author notes
Basically inspired from my mum telling me how my friend who's studying to be a dentist will flash the money in front of me and of how I will never see it because unlike her I'm bucking the trend and studying what I want-science.
