Nothing

There’s nothing
But distance and time
Between us.
This Love pulling
And pushing the stars
Together and apart.

Indefinable matter
Moving in all directions
All at once.
Unseen, unknown,
Unexplainable.
A wonder and awe
So very vast and
Completely incomprehensible.

No way to grasp it
Yet impossible to let go.
Flowing through the ether
Forever flowering
In a wild,
Eternal,
Early spring,
This Love
Only continues
To grow.

Rain falls,
Pouring
From the windows
Of this soul.
The unmarried widow
Weeps
Clearly,
Deeply longing
For a Love
Passed long ago.

From sunlight
To moonlight
Again, and again
Reflections and reveries
Reveal
There is nothing,
Not even distance
Or time
That outruns
Or outlasts
Our Love.

Author notes

A rare (thankfully) sleepless night. It is now 7:41 a.m. - and I have yet to retire for the "evening". I think I should do that now, especially since it's daylight out.

Please tell me what you think

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!

YOU STIRRED UP SOME COSMIC STARDUST WITH THIS BEAUTIFUL PIECE, TO SAY THE LEAST!

    From sunlight
    To moonlight
    Again, and again
    Reflections and reveries
    Reveal
    There is nothing,
    Not even distance
    Or time
    That outruns
    Or outlasts
    Our Love.

The perfect ending to a mystical, magical, celestial, heartfelt, and soulful piece that fit your AP name to a T. Well done, Baby! This may very well be an older piece but it is a keeper, indeed. Thanks for giving me the heads up to this one which had me stargazing and feeling as light as a feather floating down from Heaven from a sweet and sensual angels wing.

    Love & Peace!
    Earl.

    For a Love
    Passed long ago.~

    Beautifull Words

This is such a wonderful poem. Seems like it was created by the heart, and I suppose I'm not mistaken? Such a wonderful piece that can enchant a reader's eye, and maybe heart? Lovely, absolutely lovely!

  • The poem was a great one but I would suggest a different way of setting it on the page. it seemed a bit broken up in how it was placed on the page; other than that, great write.. the words are very moving

    Pouring
    From the windows
    Of this soul.
    The unmarried widow

You have a beautiful command of language, which is a key component of poetry. In addition, you have a poet's heart.... sensitive, sensuous and romantic with a touch of the mystic added for good measure. All the elements that add up to great talent, which you have in abundance.

    Good work!!!!

I do believe that this is honestly one of the BEST pieces I have ever read with such feelings. I can relate to this one so much so that it could have been poured from my soul by your pen; it hits that close to home for me. I would not touch a word of this it is perfect.

    • I am so touched by all of the comments, but yours especially, Gypsy. I've Admired You for a lonnnnng time now!

Thank You So Much for the terrific Influence and Teacher you continue to have and Be! (That sounds somewhat backwards, but kind-of right/karmic too, so I'll leave it.)

      ya All~Ways,
      ~ Jan ~

    • Thank you dear. I *like* it too.
