Wait

It is a dangerous storm I weather
The cords that should ground me have become tethered
And as this whirlwind builds within me
it intensifies and is gathering speed

I need you...

Maybe not like this air that I breathe
But you are painfully what is missing
in that space
where my heart skips a beat

and it does so more frequently
as of late
Longing for, missing you
unable to escape

As though one of mother nature's deadly twists
Reached and caught hold of me by the wrists
I've been uprooted and dangling out of place
Staring into a void that once held your face

Please...

Maybe if I just hold my breath
I'll forget
what is missing in that space
where there is nothing left

My head is spinning from the effects
of this fate
It won't let go
and I won't let go
never to forsake

I have fallen hard now to solid ground
Hope insists on taking me down
Though I fight it, to stay in this elusive state
but the winds rushing by are whispering...

"Wait."

Love? is this about waiting for love? in any case I hate waiting...it's a horrible feeling to wait for something so exciting, whether it be a vacation, love or getting a puppy...(( ha ha or maybe that's just me )) is this the calm before the storm? In any event good piece!

Wow, this very accurately expresses what you're feeling, doesn't it? I suppose it's always hard to find every word you want to say, but you've done very well here.
Gosh I can see how frustrated you must feel. It's so hard... to know what's the right thing to do...
Although you've summed it up nicely with the wisest thing to do in this case: "Wait". Very clever.
I know the very best will come to you.

Very great imagery and expressionn. I can really feel the pulling and urgent metaphor of the wind storm pulling you from the ground. Also, I can feel the longing pain inside.
    Great write,

This is filled with emotional imagery. I got the feeling of desperation when I read it out loud. Good stuff here!

Wow...such powerful imagery in this piece. A deep storm brewing within. Whirlwinds of love and past regrets holding one, tormenting one, leaving one with the destruction that was created by the furies of life and love. I can relate to this piece and every word spoken. This I think is one of your best pieces as of late. I wouldnt change a thing. My favorite line is the winds rushing by are whispering Wait...as if you are reaching out but it is moving so fast you cant grab it and your soul is quietly saying stay...but your lips unable to part with the words. Just awesome
