blame not
the cat's repose
a cat is a cat
the cat's repose
a cat is a cat
Author notes
Many people get angry at animals for being exactly what they are: animals. Dogs bark, cats sleep (and bring in mice and other vermin), and horses neigh, whinny, and be horses.
Not a very traditional haiku at all. I wish I had written this for that Contemporary Haiku contest...

I would never blame a cat for sleeping. for me, they are the essence of serenity and beauty. I don't know if I could ever sleep that much (18 hours a day apparently) but I envy the fact that they never have insomnia!
Enjoyed your write.

I thought it was 16, but 18 I suppose maes more sense. No cat could stay awake for 6 hours a day! What was I thinking? It is true they're not insomniacs. If that is the case, we all may have something to learn from them.

Cats win at life, because all they have to do is eat, sleep, and scratch things and their owners do whatever the cats want. And we, their slaves, still call them our pets.... no sense!
I should send you a picture of my new kitten, Ping An. I'd need my normal computer, though. And ^_^ Asian kitty looks somewhat high. -
