A Day of Brahman

Just like stitching that's adhering

silken threads will weave their way

first appearing - disappearing

on and on each stitch a day

Every day a day of Brahman

for that soul what ere it be

whether universe or human

binary we seem to be

Blinking on and off like star light

in the universal mind

coming going out of dark night

we are Gods, we are divine

Author notes

Everything has it's day of Brahman, be it the life of a soul or the life of a Universe
then it disappears back into the void from whence it came, constantly cycling back on itself, Ever-becoming God!

  • A very creative and insightful poem that was a delight to read as always.

  • many parts of one body, I and my Father are indeed One,
the known and know-er are but One
    exception insight
    God bless you my friend...

    • Thankyou, you are very kind, I must say that none of this is my work, it just popped into my mind and I know not from whence it came

  • Fantastic as always. I wondering if you were partially thinking of the sub atomic particles waving in and out. Or perhaps of where we go at sleep time. Or some say, our mind does this kind of thing every second and are unaware of it.

    • I agree with all of those comments it is an on off universe, and we are totally part of that how could it be otherwise, of course I know you know that
Regards and thanks for your continued support
      David

  • day of Brahman. That's interesting and search my memory, I think the Brahmans were the highest caste in Hinduism. So a day of Brahman would be a special day.

Just trying to figure it out. Enjoyed your write.

Brahman (bráhman-, nominative bráhma ब्रह्म is a concept of Hinduism.
Brahman is the unchanging, infinite, immanent, and transcendent reality which is the Divine Ground of all matter, energy, time, space, being, and everything beyond in this Universe...

In the Rig Veda, Brahman gives rise to the primordial being Hiranyagarbha that is equated with the creator God Brahmā.

Note that "Brahman" is different from "Brahmin", the priests/holy men. In fact "Brahmin" is derived from "Brahman" in the sense that a 'Brahmin is the one who knows Brahman'. The confusion between the terms can be dated back to the translation of the Upanishads into modern English.

      Judith Chandler

      Hi Judith
Of course you are correct about the Indian cast system, but a day of Brahman is much more than that. In the Hindu religion, A day of brahman has a deep spiritual meaning. If we consider the Big Bang, a very recent idea in the west, In India these things were being discussed thousands of years ago by the wise men of their day. So if we consider that from the moment the Big Bang happened until the end of the Universe, that in the East could be considered a ''Day of Brahman'' for that universe. Science(in the west) is now postulating that instead of one Big Bang, it is possible that this is an ongoing effect, with universes coming out of NOTHING!! Than going back into nothing repeatedly. In the East they would say each of these would be a day of Brahman. But the word can also mean the life of a Star or a Human being. It is said that every animal has approximately the same number of heart beats, whether it be a fly or an Elephant, don't know if it is true but I love the concept. so each animal/planet/star/ or universe has it's day of Brahman
