SCREECH
Honking screaming
Pain and fire and...
Nothing.
I stand before the judge,
Gavel in one hand,
Scales in the other.
He calmly, non-chalantly,
Picks me up and places me on the scale.
It teeters,
Then I sink.
The look he gives me is one of pity,
I scream.
His voice thunders in some archaic tongue,
My mind can't comprehend it,
But in my bones I know...
I've failed.
I awake.
Lying in the dirt.
Far away,
Above the monsterous green canopy,
Of a thousand blades of grass,
A hot sun burns brightly.
Six legs,
Two Antenna,
Ant.
Then from above,
The light grows,
It takes up the entire sky,
Spreading, moving devouring it,
Until It comes to focus on me.
I wither, I burn,
Magnified past the realm of endurance,
Yet still I live,
Pain!
Nothingness
The judge looks at me again,
And points his finger at me,
I have not yet paid.
Worlds flash before my eyes,
Tortures that I myself inflicted as a child,
As an adult.
Wings torn off,
Slaughter house horrors,
Silently stalked for hours,
Til the piercing bullet hit my side.
A thousand worlds of torture,
Til I am standing before him yet again,
Cringing for what I now expect.
But now he smiles,
And marks a note in his book,
"Paid in Full."
He points again,
And I hear the doctors.
"It's a boy!"
Life begins anew.
