Though inseparable
there are worlds between us.
These walls of golden self-deception
and
of ivory callousness
inlaid with gems of fear
erected to keep the longing ever present.
For each brick I lay
you remove two,
for you are the tireless
and
when I need rest
you work even harder
to be there to comfort me.
Oh how I wish for the courage,
you say is within me,
though I feel more cowardly,
with each passing moment,
for trying to push ever further away from you.
Why do you refuse to leave me be,
when I falsely curse you for this perpetual agony,
even though you are the blameless embodiment of purity?
To think that I deny such love,
which is like that of the comfort
of the child to the mother's breast
or
that of the man and woman in intertwining embrace
though your love is like the light of the sun compared to the light of the moon
of those.
