little hummingbirds fluttering around to hear
all the latest gossip buzzing ear to ear
no wonder mrs. brown's secret was such a stir at tea
it all got escalated when the hummingbirds flew by me
I'm really not a gossip so listen mighty close
mrs. brown's daughter stole mr. smith's hose
he then could not water and his grass turned brown
just don't say a word about it when the hummingbirds come around
and did you hear the one about the neighbor's dog that bit?
jumped up on old lady parker and gave her quiet the sit
but, if those hummingbirds come along, just keep it to yourself
just trust me dear, this I know, they surely are not deaf!

Awww this was a sweet poem of gossip and small talk. I could picture this scene playing out in smal town USA, where everybody knows everybody else.
