Hiding

I know that you're hiding, not from fear but the world,

You're lost and confused as your emotions are swirled,

In the thoughts of terrorists, of liars and thieves,

What kind of evil is up Earth's sleeves?

Kids sent to war at only the age of ten,

Children that no one would care to comprehend,

Bloodshed has fallen, but do we know for what reason?

Is it solely because of hate and treason?

I know that you're hiding, but I must ask, from what?

From the hell and destruction or 'cause your own door is shut?

I see you act like normal, like nothing is wrong,

This world is falling, while you skip and sing songs.

You may never understand yourself, why you run and you hide,

Why you've never let out your caged feelings inside,

Why you might sit on the street just to think about life,

But the mere thought of hate stabs your back like a knife.

I know that you're hiding; everyone does,

And now with every step, you push and you shove,

Through the Earth's situations, its unwelcoming pain,

Pursuing your dreams now drives you insane.

But you're not alone, we all go through this,

We're just hiding the same, watching all go amiss.

  • OMG

that is very good better than mine

  • Almost perfect rhyme, only found one flaw. (does and shove) otherwise, flawless! Keep up the great work! It's much better to take part in the party wouldn't you agree. Instead of being a bystander watching and waiting for something to happen. Though my friend again you have written well your message.

very well expressed piece of work , i love it . great job.

  • This is a wonderful poem. It shows that life is not just a walk through the park and it shows some of the many evil things about the Earth and the people on it.
