Sublimity’s kiss was as acid’s burn,
Where adhesions scar and wounded scabs bleed
Bells ring within my shattered drums aching,
Bringing my knees to muddied ground in pools
Obliterating all but grief’s dark rage
And turning to ash the smiles that we shared
Lies speak truth as you wanted to see it,
Its deception the only warmth offered
Kept by devices not of our making,
We sunk, together, within seas of old
Clinging, we caused our own drowning in death
And ceased fighting, the way out gone always
As I sit, peering at what we once had,
I see no possibilities to hold
Saddened by what glimmers we distorted,
I cave, surrendering to tomorrow

Very over whelming (in a good way)
A lot of emotion has been sqeezed into this short poem.
I do like it. It most certainly plays with my heart strings.
Bravo.
Best of luck in my contest
