Forever Unbreakable

Have you ever cried yourself to sleep, knowing it was only a temporary relief?
The flood gates open, tears rushing from the very pit of your soul,
flowing  so fast you think you might drown?

Did you ever love so deeply you lost yourself inside another
only to wake up one day, without their love by your side?
Or have to pick up the pieces of your own broken heart?
Did you ever see the future you knew would be yours
crumble right before your eyes, knowing you could do nothing to save it?
Or give up on love, only to have someone steal your heart and make it whole again
and then take the trust you gave to them, and break your heart,
a million times more than It had ever been broken?
Have you ever believed in the fantasy of what love should be,
but never really experienced it? I have, and wait for the day
when I’m blessed with a forever unbreakable heart.

    I think anyone who has loved and lost has felt that way... I do believe we only are given things to deal with that we can handle and that will make us stronger Very strong emotions come through in this. very deep and dark

    I have loved that deeply but I discovered after years of hurt that people come into our lives at a designated time for a reason. It took some time for that reason to be revealed to me and now I can smile at simply being allowed to love. I agree with all the others that the poem is sad but a mound of great work comes from our most hurtful experiences. Although forlorn, this poem is exceedingly beautiful, and written with skill of pen.

    Why so sad?

    i do love the poem, but it's so sad. i really read way too many sad poems. i gonna look for happy ones. really good job though!

    I agree with everyone on this. It's a very powerful yet sad write. the hardest thing is not giving up on love. the ones who've hurt your heart don't deserve all the love you can give. You find that right someone one day. i know it <3

    This is a sad poem, but so true I think for all of us, all we can do is Never give up. Keep hoping that someday you will wake up knowing all your dreams have come true, at least that is my wish for you
