cold wind and showers in the morning
the Sun refuses to speak thro' the clouds
yet I dance.....
the days are cold
and long are the lingering nights
yet I dance...
never asleep,never calm,never silent
the grass with kiss of dews
the wind-- elusive ,leaves a distant whisper
the rock with pranks of falling leaves
a cat climbing on a tree
the trees--a plaything of seasons' whims
recipient of glory and gloom
stand in resignation
the color of flowers smelling hope
on the ripples
and then they come....
the footsteps crumbling silence and solitude
and the heaviness of my softness
my mind is sold
to a cuckoo's song
lovers filled in themselves
the air is sweet
couples with radiant smile
bubbling warmth on the winding path
children delightful
bright innocence,no malice , no disguise
grey hair
trying to drag the past glory thro' me
to fill the numbness of forgotten holidays
and the dull empty todays
I feel and fill
peace and joy
mirth and laughter
until the Sun's rays fade into twilight's oblivion
trembling and shivering
for a warm embrace
glad to find life's boom
but clad only in timeless gloom
I dance...
and dance and dance....

This has some spectacular imagery ... I got an impression of a time you know about 10 years when cuckoos were still commonly found even in the cities.... and all those beautiful scenes I saw each time I went to my maternal Grandparent's place... The emotions and each word is so well integrated to nature's pace ... its very well done

Thank you for sharing this

Beautiful imagery
and a great message - for me, it exuded the need for an 'attitude of gratitude' while we dance the dance of life itself.
lol, ironic, yet sobering after my own dreary U2-inspired poem; my take on 'I still haven't found what I'm looking for'.
Thank you for dropping by

This is beautiful, you transported me into a beautiful world where each touch of nature has it's own story, even if the days seem sad you still hold that hope with the repetition of dance. Really like this piece, amazingly penned! Great work

Although this piece is filled with such great imagery, it too is filled with so much emotion and especially an underlying sadness. I can really relate to this one and it was as if I could have written it myself... well providing I had this sort of talent... lol ( I only wished I had written this one!) As I read it I felt as if someone had been living within my head the past few years, and especially the past few days.
I don't know what your promt was for the contest that you have entered, but I can see the contest title and your poem certainly fits the title of the contest quite well. I hope you do well in the contest dear. I wish you much luck with this well constructed piece of poetry.
Hugs,

I can see you doing a spin like Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music
while she's singing The Hills are alive...

The Warmth of It
Trebmble, and , and the warm embrace, then the rthythm, the dance, to fill that which is empty now. I feel charged for the take off.

I like the description of nature and the images are
so clear and relaxing. There is a softness to this
write yet behind it I feel there is a trace of
sadness too...a nice read
