Happy to Be Unhappy

So many years together
Through joy
Pain
Sorrow

All those mountains climbed
Almost giving up
Then realizing
We touched heaven

I cry at night
But I will carry
What you taught me
To my grave

You taught me to be happy
And I will try
I will walk
One
      Step
            At
                A
                    Time

Until we meet again
Until we hold each other again
I am happy to be unhappy
To be missing you

For in this life
I loved you

aw. very emotional & heartfelt. i can tell those words were carefully chosen to mean something to you. there's kind of a self-sacrifice undertone here, in a way. those last four lines really were powerful.
