    Season Of Champions

As the team huddled before the big game,
They talked about how they would remain tame.
Kathy suggested a tight center guard,
But Tiffany responded with “no throw it hard!”

Don calls a peel
As Curt goes to kneel,
“We have to be shot!”
But it flies by real hot.

Now were in trouble as though it may seem,
And not really working as a great team.

Another flash with only 5 down ,
I can see all the faces lit up with a frown.

But what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a very nice freeze and a glassful of beer.

Over three sheets the tension is tight,
As Jonathon looks like he might start a fight.
The brooms go down and the gloves come off,
But Coach Kim just tells them to both “shove off!”

It comes down to hammer for the one they call ‘Bice’,
As he follows his own rock right down the ice.
It’s picked up a hair and stops in the eight,
Steve yells at Mark “That wasn’t enough weight!”

So now the games tied with 4 ends to go,
This is when we start playing like the pro’s.

The guards go up and the freezes are made,
The brushers stay strong as we start to invade.

The spaces are thin but the focus in on,
And now we are shot from the rock that’s been drawn.


As we squeeze though the port to secure the steel,
The crowd and the onlookers yell out with a squeal.

We pulled it off team with all of our skills,
Now we can drink and talk of our thrills.

Our season now over the ice soon to be soft
Let’s all stand together and have a rum-off!
