do not speak
eyes downcast,
a turned cheek;
evil words bounce off your ears
and a sharp cry echoes
off locker room walls...
yet you do not speak
rocks hurled like juvenile missiles,
a war without meaning,
fueled by hate--
you object--
yet you do not speak
though none would think
to question your love--
even your fledgling adolescent romances--
plenty would shun his
and their fear is strong--
but yours is stronger--
you do not speak
a body absent from class
whispers, snickers behind cupped hands
you see him lying on the nurse's cot,
nearly unrecognizable...
but you look away;
you do not speak

Wow, deep. This was filled with imagery and it made me turn my head away at the end shuddering, seeing that awful scene. You did this nicely, and it's just horrible how things like this really do happen. I really liked the imagery and the emotion in this. Great word choice and sceneplay as well. Great job on this and good luck in the contest.

again you capture humanity it its sin, and most vile nature...
why must humans always find need to persecute each other?
i see two possible interpretations of this piece.
1) they are a homosexual couple and guy a was open and guy b closeted.
or
2) its obviously because the jumped party was of a minority and persecuted against.
who knows...
oooh yeah YOU!
love the nitty gritty of this real world write
