she stood in church clad
in red robe, coal black hair
waving a wand in her hand
commanding voices and instruments
bobbing in animated motions
conducting syncopated hymns
with every eye in the congregation
mesmerized by her dervish dance
while all the musical notes
rose joyously into the air!
