Who's Playing?

She beckons the door to open
Slamming her staff on the floor. She floats past
Roses, red as Betelgeuse - fire-like, too.
They claw at the men's face.
She demands they be brighter.
Hotter than that star, anyway.
Slamming her staff again, she screams.
Tantrum upon Tantrum,
She screams.
Not good enough?
Then 'Off with their heads'.

Carrying Holophernes' Skull,
Poor old Jack follows behind.
A 'pretty' knave who never has enough blood on his sword,
Cutting down the roses, he lusts after one's head.
That ace gets away with everything.
Only does he play his card -
'Im just a poor boy,
No body loves me'
But She hears her own words,
And He's now higher than She is.

***

Jack returns home,
Fighting for Her affections.
Victorious from the battle of Patay -
Un Pierce de Resistance?
Not after killing that many people.
She didn't care.
Too busy telling stories:
'Once Upon A Time...'
Judith loved to tell those stories.
And everyone was made to listen.

***

Jack isn't the only murderous one though.
The first Aaron was scared of Zayin.
Mostly becuase cannibalistic Zayin had a habit of devouring
Mersenne's first borns
(But only when they sat in squares)

***

She, Judith by name,
Loved her home town, Bethulia by name,
And made her Fame
By loving the Same
Coloured roses - Heart.

Though it proved her Mortality -
Her 'Free Man of No Nobilty'
became fed up of No Nobility
And strangled her with an abused scarlet flamingo.

No more Croquet for Her!

  • I definitely need google to appreciate this fully and I shall as soon as I've stopped being jealous.
You're not taking English for A Level are you? WHY ON EARTH NOT. Seriously, you're very talented.
And I'm not preparing you to ask for a loan or anything.
    *Rant over*
I did spot various references and I think this is rather clever.

you dont sound to keen! anyway here goes:

'She' is the queen of hearts. and according to their original names in paris, she was Judith from the bible (came from Bethulia) who's 'book of judith' was always written in a form of 'once upon a time' she was also commonly painted as holding the head of Holophernes. and plus that links with the queen of hearts in alice in wonderland who always wanted ot shop the card's heads off. and that also link with the 'painting the roses red'. Betelgeuse is a star reknowned for being red (also the film beetlejuice was named after it). the Jack of Hearts (jacks were reffered to as Knaves) was (accoding to oringial parisian names) 'La Hire' a general on the right hand side of joan of arc who 'never had enough blood on his sword and lusted for battle. He also led france in winning the battle of Patay (pierce de resistance reffering to french saying about the resistance - one of which joan of arc led). the 'one' meaning 'ace of hearts' becuase aces replace one in packs of cards sings a 'queen' song so that he'll get in the queen's favour and therefore is higher than her, becuase aces can be high and low in some card games. the one about aaron and zayin is about the joke '6 afraid of 7..7 ate 9' . A 'Ruth-Aaron' number is two consecutive numbers that comply with a rule about factors and adding them up or something and the first pair of numbers that can be classed as 'Ruth-Aaron' numbers is [5 & 6](the 5 being Ruth and the 6 being Aaron). Zayin in the hebrew name for 'Seven' and 'Marsenne' numbers are also something to with binary numbers ect. the first marsenne number is 3 and 3'sitting in a square' (3 squared) is 9. therefore 'first Aaron [6] afraid of Zayin [7] becuase Zayin ate first marsenne in a square [9]. The last paragraph is about the king of hearts - (according to parisian names) was 'Charles' and charles means 'Churl' in german which means 'a freeman of no nobilty'. In alice of wonderland (again!) the queen of hearts rules over the top of the king of hearts and he has 'no nobility' and kills her with one of the red flamingos she uses to play croquet with (alice in wonderland) (also this didnt happne in alice in wonderland; made i tup for dramatic effect lol)......SOOOOO

i hope that made more sense to you lol. it took BLOOMING AGES but it was worth it lol

          • Ahhhh, I see. Almost a little too much knowledge to take in but not quite! How do you know all these things?!
I think you're probably the most knowledgable friend I possess. Which is both good and bad. Mainly bad because it only highlights more so my lack of general knowledge...
Thank you kindly for taking the time to elaborate so fully.
