Death always leaves me wondering why
Life seems unfair when it's time to die
And at the moment when we have to say good bye
I've gotta try my hardest not to cry
I swear nothing's worse than losing family
Too much care hurts when there's a eulogy
It tears at the hearts which have to see
Final prayers and a hearse for those who R.I.P.
Ava Maria has got me singing the blues
Pouring rain has me bringing home muddy shoes
It hurts remembering those who we lose
But in the end we'll all be paying our dues
How is it, we can say good bye everyday
But when we mean it, it becomes too hard to say
Can't explain it, does the soul really float away?
And if it does, then why do the memories stay?
So at the moment when my heartbeats cease
And the hospital charts are marked deceased
When my caucus has been blessed by a priest
Say good bye and please let me rest in peace.

Powerful piece. There's not much that's more painful than losing a loved one and you expressed that well here, and then offer your perspective on this and your own life in the last stanza.
