Madrid part I

We took the Gran Via to Hotel Gaudi,
Our home for the next week
With its elegant entryway and
Flowing waterfall, adorned with
Long glass pillars of fruit and
Wide smiling concierges
Showering us with fake friendliness and
Broken English

We explored our Madrid mother at night,
Ascending and descending the spiral staircases dizzily,
Innocently averting eyes from fellow guests and
Inquiries from nervous workers in white pressed outfits,
As if we were CIA agents;
Mission:  Madrid

We retired for the night in our room,
Opening the large French doors and
Stepping out to our luxurious balcony,
Inspecting Madrid, our city
As if we protected it
On our sturdy perch we closely watched
As the tiny cars and loud ambulances flew by
Not stopping for a second to sleep,
And neither did we.

  • the imagery was really good and im totally jealous you went to madrid, but it needs more emotion cause right now its just a description

    • Yeah I know exactly what you mean. My professor has this "show, don't tell" motto that I'm working on, hopefully it'll come together soon
