Wind is never colourless beneath a golden sky
reflecting the smile-dimpled clouds
and the heaven-scented flowers.
The muggy earth breathes the swirling green mass of grass
and tosses the heady heathers
this way and that,
staining the wavering silver sea
with pink-purple threads.
The sweetness of the colours fuse,
mix, paint the ground
and rise in the sickening air.
Heat tastes of boiling water
and the sweat of wax-coated leaves.
